What is beautiful changes over time and place. Most white people live in the western world, so in that area on the globe, tanned skin is promoted. A tan that most Asian people naturally have. But in Asia and the Middle East where people have this desired darker complexion, a white skin is promoted. The beauty industry cannot make money by telling you your skin looks fine already. So in the west, they tell you to buy bronzing cream and in the east, the same company tells you to buy whitening cream. It is the ultimate example of the beauty industry's sales tactics. They don't really care if you're beautiful as long as you buy their products. Don't believe their riduculous commercials!
