Oscar-winning Australian actress Nicole Kidman is pregnant and has pulled out of shooting her next film "The Reader." MOREINFO: Kidman's publicist Wendy Day confirmed the actress was pregnant in a statement, saying the couple were thrilled with the pregnancy. Rumours of Kidman's pregnancy have circulated for a few weeks, with reports she told her family over Christmas holidays in Australia. SCRIPT: As she emerged from a Sydney restaurant Nicole Kidman all but confirmed she is pregnant. (SOUNDBITE) (English) NICOLE KIDMAN SAYING: "I'm very excited." She and Keith Urban, her country music star husband, apparently told her parents over the Christmas holidays. (SOUNDBITE) (English) KIDMAN'S MOTHER, JANELLE ANN SAYING: "Very pleased, really pleased indeed. Nothing else would make me come out straight from the pool onto the front door step. I think it's in July." Nicole, who's 40, has two adopted children from her first marriage to Tom Cruise and suffered a miscarriage while she was with him. She's already been shopping for the new baby and, according to one deliveryman - does know its sex. Kidman was due to start filming the post-World War II drama The Reader but has withdrawn from the film because of the pregnancy. She says for the moment her career is not her priority.
