On February 21, 1993, NC State honored the 1983 NCAA Championship basketball team in Reynolds Coliseum. Their coach Jim Valvano was working the game for ABC and gave this speech before a standing room only crowd. This speech precluded his famous ESPY speech. He died of cancer on April 28, 1993 . Don't give up, don't ever give up. www.jimmyv.org People have asked me where I got this footage from, I sat in the upper half of Reynolds Coliseum with my own camera and taped the speech never thinking that anyone but close friends would ever see it.
