For those of you who don't know, reporter Clayton Clark grew up in the St. Louis, Missouri area...so he's never been within 100 feet of cattle. That all changed yesterday when he volunteered TAKE VO to help out at the Northern livestock Auction for this week's Someone's Gotta Do It... (Clayton Clark, KX News) Today we're at the Northern Livestock Auction learning how to pen cattle. I'm going to be honest with you. I'm a little scared. (Marlyn Hagen, Northern Livestock Auction) This is where we check the cattle in. We count them, sex them and then we move them back into the yard and the first thing we do is sex feeder cattle. Then we'll sort them according to size and wait. (Clayton Clark, KX News) That's a big hamburger, oh heavens. (Marlyn Hagen, Northern Livestock) He's going to chase them down to a pen. (Clayton Clark, KX News) ''Here we go, now we're talking. Alright look at them move alright, knees high, alright. Good work, now where do we go. Holy cow these guys can run. That's a bull and I'm wearing red. That's bad. Come on. you can do it put your back into it. No stops, no flirting. This is so they kick us in the back and not the front. Play it cool Gaylen.
