Duration: 9:10Source: YouTube
Bobby Diablo & Miami Tallahasse ditch Manic Mike at a Narita Airport Geisha House and hid for some lunch and stuff at Bangkok, Thailand's world famous Oriental Hotel! More of the Great KASR V Pacific Rim Road Trip: Bangkok, Thailand! Home of Big Banquets. KASRV Point of Interest: Bangkok, known in Thai as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon, กรุงเทพมหานคร or Krung Thep กรุงเทพฯ for short, is the capital and primate city of Thailand. It is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, near the Gulf of Thailand. Bangkok is the 22nd most populous city in the world. Bangkok has a registered population nearing 7 million people, however, due to discrepancies in the number of people residing without a residence certificate, the actual number could be as high as 15 million. Even then, the number of people who flux in the capital from neighbouring provinces during the day for jobs has given way to estimates as high as 20 million. There are no complete approximations of the metropolitan population, the city is a conglomerate spanning 5 provinces. The areas bounded by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) only cover about half of the city's true size. There has been much controversy over the population and size of Bangkok. Bangkok is a magnet for foreigners escaping turmoil in their homeland or simply for business. Bangkok has long been the gateway to Asia for foreign interests seeking new markets. The city is a major economic and financial center of Southeast Asia. Bangkok has one of the fastest rates in the world for construction of high rise buildings. The city's wealth of cultural sites makes it one of the world's most popular tourist destinations. The Oriental Bangkok is a five-star hotel in Bangkok. Founded in 1876 on the banks of the Chao Phraya River at 48 Oriental Avenue, the hotel is well-known for the excellence of its service, which consistently places it in surveys among the world's best hotels. It is a favorite of celebrity visitors to Bangkok. Joseph Conrad, Somerset Maugham and Noel Coward are among the famous authors who have stayed at the Oriental. They now have suites named after them, as do Graham Greene, John le Carré, Barbara Cartland and James A. Michener. Other famous guests have included Neil Armstrong, Lauren Bacall, George H. W. Bush, Jacques Chirac, Sean Connery, Mel Gibson, Václav Havel, Audrey Hepburn, Mick Jagger, Henry Kissinger, Helmut Kohl, David Beckham, Niki Lauda, Sophia Loren, Yehudi Menuhin, Richard Nixon, Pelé, Queen Sofia of Spain, Princess Diana and Prince Charles, Omar Sharif and Elizabeth Taylor. for more info: www.mandarinoriental.com/bangkok ASU Student Radio is celebrating it's 25th year being the Sun Devil's Original Alternative! For more info check out www.theblaze1260.com. "Don't expect a lot from this show." Was the unofficial motto of KASR VIDEO, which made a pleasant surprise when we actually knocked out a great show! The program was a weekly 2 hour public access offshoot of the Arizona State University's original alternative radio station that aired in Phoenix. The music video show featured rarely seen videos and "new" music not in the "main stream." Along with non-conventional interviews it became a decent way to nurse a hangover with the midnight party crowd. These clips are edited as a sort of best of; minus the music videos.
