From Science to Assessment: Overview of the IPCC AR4 Working Group I Report Speaker: Ronald Stouffer, Senior Research Meteorologist, Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL) Ron Stouffer specifically addresses how the IPCC arrives at consensus in the face of uncertainty, particularly when it comes to predicting future climate change. He described in intimate detail how governments negotiate the language in the Summaries for Policy Makers that accompany each assessment report and called attention to some of the key remaining areas of uncertainty, particularly sea level rise.
