Hamlet NC - Hamlet hosts many festivals, concerts and holiday events throughout the year with the largest celebration the Annual Seaboard Festival, commemorating Hamlet’s heritage as a railroad town. More than 30,000 attend this event where more than 200 handcraft vendors line the streets and visitors and residents enjoy food, music, dancing, road races and children’s activities. The County’s annual fireworks display, over Hamlet City Lake, also draws thousands of spectators. The 900-seat Robert L. and Elizabeth S. Cole Auditorium brings music theater, holiday productions, dance companies and symphony orchestras to Hamlet, with entertainment for all ages. From the Christmas Carol and Hello Dolly to the Bluegrass Festival and the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, there is a great selection of entertainment in Hamlet! Another popular entertainment venue is the Hamlet Fairgrounds, which hosts such events as the Richmond County Fair and annual rodeo that is sponsored by the Hamlet Business Development Association. The area is also a destination for race fans, with huge crowds coming to the ROCK to watch the national championship dragstrip races each year.
