My Great NBA Courtside View
Duration: 0:31Source: YouTube
I've worked for the broadcast television crew at almost every Hornet game played in Oklahoma City (relocated from New Orleans 2005-2007, due to Hurricane Katrina). This clip is from 03/25/07, and features a CP3 alley-oop to Tyson Chandler, a glimpse of the World-Famous Yao Ming, and a good sample of the view from my position by the Hornets' bench/under the goal. This was my spot for nearly 70 games, and I also was involved in almost every pre & postgame Hornet player, coach, & locker room interview. Sadly (for us in OK), this era is coming to a close as (of this posting) there remain but a handful of games left in OKC before the Hornets return home to New Orleans permanently. I agree with the local consensus that Oklahoma will have a NBA team of its' own in the near future (2 to 5 years), but those of us fortunate enough to be involved with the first major professional franchise to play in Oklahoma will never forget the experience. You can imagine I would be reluctant to ever buy a ticket to sit in the upper deck at a basketball game, when I was once paid to sit right under the goal. Shaq, Yao, T-Mac, & Kobe - Wade, Kidd, Carter...OKC saw them all - , But the fans in the Ford Center cheered for Mason, West, & Chris Paul. - S.S. 03/26/2007
