Today was one of the most special days in my life. We went to Church with my parents at a little bitty cowboy church in little Tinnie, NM. I have a past at this church as my grandfathers were both Baptist preachers, and were both CLOSE friends with the praecher whom has been there since I can remember. Bill Jones. He spoke of my grandpa Coplen, whom I dearly miss. Brother Jones always refers to my granpa as his pastor and always references scripture and knowledge that my grandpa left him. My mom led the singing today and the songs that she choose were old time favorites of her parents, my mimi and papa, that are both deceased. It really touched me. On the song " Victory in Jesus" which my mom was leading the singing on, I decided to join her at the pulpit, she and I sang the song together or led it together. I looked out into the audience and saw very few dry eyes in the house. Kayla was the 1st one I saw crying, which made me tear up, my dad continued looking down and would not look up at us, but I saw him wiping his eyes, My husband Bert was wiping the tears from his eyes and at that moment I began to cry, I could not sing with my mom because all I wanted to do was for her to hold me and let me cry. {Probably selfish} My brother and sister in law were there. My brother says he wasn't crying but whatev.....LOL After she and I sang together, the ladies were asked to come to the front of the church, The church pastor, Bro. Jones, honored all the mothers with books about motherhood, messages and memories to leave behind for your children. Then one by one we were each given a rose to represent our mother, White roses for the daughters whose mother was no longer living, and red roses for the daughters whose mothers were still living. My mom and Joyce both recieved white roses, and I received a red rose. Very awesome experience. My mom then sang the special music for the service and we all cried while she sang, " while he holds my hand " . After Church service, Kayla, Kendra, and I paused for a moment as we heard the piano player Annie Playing a familiar song. We started singing it and walked over to the piano, where we all including my mom began singing it as Annie played it. They had never heard the song but thought it was very pretty. Another special moment. I am uploading the short video of my mother and I leading the singing on this page and I will upload the special music she sang by herself, when there was not a dry eye in the building. I have to say this was one of the most precious and special Mother's Days I have ever spent and I will always hold it close to my heart. Thank you Mom, for always being there and for making my life as special as it has been, Thank you the most for the wisdom you have given me to raise my own children even when I feel I can no longer do a good job. I am a wonderful mommy and I have my very own mommy to thank for that. I Love you Mom....... 5-11-2008 Crystal
