Okay, just so I know you guys are reading, could you comment? I just want to know if people are actually reading my story, because if not I might stop posting these. Not because I want a million comments and subscribers, but because I don't see the point in posting what I write if no one reads it. KTHANKS :) BOYS OF SUMMER 19. He walked faster to catch up, and realized who it was. "KATE!" he yelled over the noise of the city. She turned around and when she saw him she ran over and into his arms. "KEVIN! How have you been?" Before he had a chance to answer, the person Kate was with caught up to her and extended his hand, "Hey, you must be Kevin from the beach, I've heard a lot about you. I'm David, Kate's boyfriend." He said. When Kevin heard this his smile faded and his heart sunk. He had never been so disappointed in his life. "Yeah, I'm Kevin," he replied, trying to hide his disappointment. Turning to Kate, he tried to change the subject and ease the awkwardness, "Hey Kate, I've got to go, but we're in town for another day, we should all go out to dinner tonight or something." "Yeah, that sounds great," she replied, excited, but before she had a chance to say bye, David pulled her away from Kevin, "I'll call you," she yelled over her shoulder just before she was out of ear range. "You're hanging out with him?" David asked, worried, this time he wasn't just being rude and over protective, he was jealous, and not in a bad way. He didn't want to lose Kate again. "Yeah, it's no big deal, don't worry about it," Kate replied, trying to convince herself more than she was trying to convince David. She was so glad that she bumped into Kevin, but now she was having mixed feelings again. The two walked back to the apartment in uncomfortable silence and Kate left David in the street with a simple goodbye when they parted ways. Once she was upstairs she walked right past Jen and Joe on the couch and straight to her room. It was simple, she needed to think. "What was that," Joe asked when Kate rushed by. He was a little hurt when she walked right past him without saying anything, "is she mad at me for something?" "No Joe, it's probably just David, she was hanging out with him before this. I'm gonna go check on her, you can do whatever." Jen replied, getting up. When she got to Kate's room, she knocked and walked in without waiting for the annoyed response she knew she'd get. "What's wrong, Kate?" "It's David." "I knew it! What did the little bas-" "And Kevin." "Wait, you saw Kevin?" "Yeah, and by the way, we're all going out to dinner." "Okay, but that still doesn't answer my question." Kate sighed, and then reluctantly explained, "Okay, when before we left the beach I thought that I was over David, but then he called and I was having second thoughts. When we got back to the city and I saw him again, I couldn't help but run right back into his arms, like I always do. I just can't help myself, I love the boy too much." Jen was about to protest, but Kate stopped her by holding up her hand, signaling she wasn't finished, "But today when I saw Kevin, I felt... Well I- I think I might like him. I didn't want to admit it at the beach, but I can't deny it anymore, Jen. I like two guys." "But do you really LOVE David, or are you just having a hard time getting over him." "I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Jen, help me?" "I can't and you know that. You have to figure it out. I don't know how you're feeling so I can't tell you. I think that you just need to slow down and try to figure out your real feelings. Find out if you still love David, and find out if you really do like Kevin, and then decide what to do." "Thanks Jen." "Anytime, just do me one favor?" "Yeah sure, anything." "Think about it later, it's almost five and we still have to set up dinner," Jen replied getting up and walking back into the living room to check on Joe. Kate followed her lead, and headed out to greet the guest she had so rudely blown off five minutes ago. Once they had talked to Joe, they made reservations and called Nick, Emily and Kevin. --- Ahhh, more mixed feelings. What shall we do with dear Kate? Next up: Some dinner awkwardness and a secret to be told. P.S. I think I'll post two more today, just to get things rolling. I have some drama coming up. P.P.S. I'm having writers block, if you have any ideas let me know! COMMENT, RATE, SUBSCRIBE, BEFRIEND :)
