Mainfreight Cure Kids Adventure Race 2007

Cure Kids is the face of the Child Health Research Foundation -- an organisation established over 30 years ago to address the lack of research into life-threatening childhood illnesses. Mainfreight entered a team in the Cure Kids Adventure Race held in the Waitakere Ranges 30th of March 2007. Corporate Teams made up of three men and a woman have to hit check points only revealed 30min before the race commences. It involves coasteering, mountain biking and running. The Mainfreight team consisted of Grant Lowe, John Eshuis, Natalie Rouse, and Ben Meyer with Andrew Sparey acting as a reserve. They also had a fantastic support crew in Julie Lowe, Rachel Hustler, Kelly Huntley, Meredith Rouse, Chris Meyer-Jones, and Richard Jones who kept the team fueled up and enabled quick transitions on and off the mountain bikes.Our team raised over $12,000 for Cure Kids and came a credible 4th in 5hrs and 45min.When you meet any of the cure kids ambassadors you realize that our effort and endurance is nothing compared to what they go through.We did it for the kids...
