Ben Burnley (vokal, rytmegitar) Aaron Fink (gitar) Mark James Klepaski (bass) Chad Szeliga (trommer) Breaking Benjamin is an american "post-grunge" band. The band started in 1998 with Benjamin Burnley(guitar and vocal) and Jeremy Hummel(drums). In 1999 Breaking Benjamin changed their name to "Plan 9" for a short period, but in 2000 they changed it back to Breaking Benjamin. Two friends of Burnley, Aaron Fink and Mark Klepaski, left their previous band "Lifer" and joined Breaking Benjamin. In 2001, the band signed to Hollywood Records and short after that they released a EP(Breaking Benjamin EP) and all the 2,000 copies were sold out. Their first album were released on August 27, 2002 and was called "Saturate". Till now "Saturate" has sold out 300,000 copies. On June 29,2004, Breaking Benjamin released their next album which was called "We Are Not Alone" The single "So Cold" was featured on this album and reached number 2 on the United States Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. "So Cold" was also featured in a promotional video for the movie "Hellboy". The commercial success for "So Cold" led to "We Are Not Alone" selling 48,000 copies and achieving platinium in 2005. In September 2004, Jeremy Hummel was kicked out from the band. Short after this happened, Hummel filed a federal lawsuit against Breaking Benjamin claiming that he didn't get paid for songs which he made. An article was released October 25, 2006 which proved that Hummel does not recieve any payments from the making of "We Are Not Alone" in which he co-authored. Jeremy Hummel was replaced by Chad Szeliga. Breaking Benjamin released their third album on August 8, 2006. The album was titled "Phobia" and sold out 131,000 copies the first week. The album got very good critics, special for the songs "Diary of Jane" and "Breath". Till now, Phobia has sold 878,334 copies in the US.
