Lucky 13 Arrests South Miami Drug Dealers 1/19/06 10PM Brian Andrews South Miami Police arrested eight drug dealers tonight in what they are calling Operation Lucky 13. CBS4's Brian Andrews was the only reporter to join police as they took down these dealers. This is the ninth such round-up of suspected drug dealers in the last two years, in which the department has tried to rid the city's streets of a recurring illegal narcotics problem. Investigators say their efforts have led to the identification and arrests of more than 100 people dealing cocaine on city streets. They are calling this Operation Lucky 13 because they were able to get arrest warrants for all 13 suspects on Friday the 13th of last week. Thursday night's operation started just after the dinner hour, which is when detectives say surveillance indicated drug sales were happening at their most frequent levels. Detectives say all 13 people who had felony warrants issued for their arrests were captured on videotape, selling cocaine on the city streets. Arrested tonight: Clayton Capers, Robert Ashbury, Stacey Martin, Samuel Stokes, Barfield Burch. Eight other suspects remain at large. Some of the suspects that were arrested in tonight's operation are considered to be career criminals, while others had extensive criminal pasts for narcotics.
