South Korean boxer Choi Yo-Sam staggers to his feet to defend his world boxing organisation flyweight title. But moments after taking a bad beating in the final round, he lapses into a coma. Choi, who won the fight by decision, was sent to the canvas by his Indonesian opponent seconds before the end of the 12th and final round. The intercontinental world champion underwent brain surgery for a cerebral hemorrhage but has not regained conciousness. (SOUNDBITE) (KOREAN) HAN BO-YOUNG, VICE PRESIDENT AND SECRETARY GENERAL OF KOREA BOXING COMMISSION, SAYING: "A person whose brain is in a good condition can wake up. We'll have to wait and see. But the doctors all say it's very difficult." The fight has bought back memories of a 1982 bout in Las Vegas between light weight champion American Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini and South Korean Kim Duk-Koo. In that fight, the South Korean challenger died of his injuries. Nidhi Dutt, Reuters.
