Rep. John Mica (R-FL) discusses the House debate on the $14.4 billion Amtrak reauthorization bill, HR 6003. It includes a requirement for the Department of Transportation to take proposals from the private sector to finance, construct and operate high-speed rail for two-hour service between Washington and New York City. The bi-partisan legislation also requires a study on how to maximize economic development along the Northeast corridor.
