The shooting deaths of three men, whose bodies were found in a vehicle in a residential area of Toronto's west end on Sunday, were probably gang related, police said Sunday. -
The men's bodies were found inside a gold Nissan Pathfinder parked on Lunness Road near Browns Line, but police said it's possible the shootings took place somewhere else.
-
A 911 call was made around 3:40 a.m. ET, telling police that three people were dead inside the vehicle, one in the front seat and two in the back seat.
-
Police said the men died of gunshot wounds and all three were "suffering from trauma" and were pronounced dead at the scene.
-
The victims were identified as Adrian Bannerman, 29, Aaron MacDonald, 20, and Kurt Charles, 27, all of Toronto, police said.
-
Toronto police Homicide Squad Det. Dean Burks said the men were shot from outside the car and a number of bullets pierced the vehicle.
-
The three men had been at a nightclub earlier in the evening, police said.
Burks said police are looking for the driver.
-
The shootings bring the number of people killed in Toronto to 35 this year, six of whom died in the past week.

A report last week said Toronto remains the safest metropolitan city to live in. The Statistics Canada report indicated that among urban areas of more than 500,000 people, Toronto residents reported fewer crimes per capita in 2007 than their counterparts in Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver.

Winnipeg had the country's highest crime rate followed by Edmonton.
