John McCain and Sarah Palin Town Hall Waukesha, WI 10/09/08 TRANSCRIPT: [McCain supporters chant Teror, Terror] CHRISTOPHER ROSE: Were here today to put to the forefront the crisis that started not just in the last couple weeks but six to eight years ago. The policies that have given our jobs away, from NAFTA to CAFTA to all the free trade agreements that have been unfair to the American workers who are the backbone of our economy. American workers have not been given their fair shot in this process and now were at a point where were bailing out Wall Street. They walked away with parachutes when our people walk away to the unemployment lines. And they have this continued under the same policies of the John McCain Republican party. When we face an issue as serious as we do today and were talking about presidential candidates, when we go back and look at the voting record of John McCain for the working class and the American people that are the backbone of the economy. Hes a 16% lifetime when it comes to working class issues. Thats whats tearing apart our country, thats whats tearing apart our economy and thats whats wrong with America today. INTERVIEWER: What kind of derisive, negative comments have you been getting form the line over there? ROSE: Weve been called terrorists, um, were called unpatriotic, which I think is ironic when were standing up for the country we believe in. Weve been all kinds of [inaudible] f-words dropped on us, like they are now. Were here to try to let people know that the American people need help, working class people need help.
