Moorhead Soldier's Funeral on Thursday
 Source: ClipSyndicate
The body of a soldier...killed in action in the iraq war...is home tonight..... Sergeant Andrew Nelson was killed near Tikrit last week. He was 22-year-old and was on his fourth tour of duty when he was killed during a ground patrol. He had already served once in Afghanistan and twice in Iraq when he returned for the third and final time. Nelson's family met his casket at the jet center...there an honor guard escorted the body off the plane...Patriot Guard riders honored Sergeant Nelson as well. Vietnam Veteran Ron Durand says you can never know the pain of losing a loved one to war.....unless you've lived it. (Ron Durand/Vietnam Veteran) For us, we suffer a survivor's guilt. Why are we here? And why did they not come back? But as long as we're alive...our mission on earth is not yet finished. Hopefully God just has good plans for us. Viewing and memorial services begin tomorrow and continue through Friday at Korsmo funeral home. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7:30 and an all-night prayer vigil, which runs through 6:30 thursday morning. All three events will be held at Saints Anne and Jo-kim Catholic Church in Fargo. Funeral mass will be thursday morning at 10 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moorhead. Andrew Nelson will be buried Friday, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
