A lovely, happily married upper-class black woman is thrown over by her husband--for a white woman. Not only that, but he leaves her with nothing, forcing her to look to her poor relations for help. As she puts her life back together, she struggles to maintain her anger to stave off bitterness and despair. In the middle of all this, an earnest, cornrowed man falls in love with her. Once she learns to face her life with confidence once more, will she be able to trust again? Adapted from the popular play written by Tyler Perry.
