Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum (Trio Acoustic Version)
This is Wayne Shorter's Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum off of his album Speak No Evil. I originally bought the album to listen to Herbie but now I listen to it for Freddie Hubbard and Elvin Jones. They do some rhythmic manipulation that just blows me away. I was feeling extra chromatic tonight. Just trying to push the boundaries of my "out" playing on a good standard.A good way to practice this is to think a half step out off any chord BUT don't resolve back in. It takes some getting used to but you have to really believe in it to pull it off. The chromatic clusters also sound much clearer on an acoustic grand piano. But mine unfotunatley doesn't have a 1/4 inch output...I can't explain what happens @ 58 seconds.
