A St. Studios with Django's Cadillac
Duration: 4:37Source: YouTube
Django's Cadillac's first day in "A" St. Studios. Band members break in the new pad. The gypsy jazz of Django Reinhardt and Stefan Grapelli served as the starting point for the musical journey of Django's Cadillac. Stops along the way have included traditional gypsy guitar and Parisian musettes from the pre war era, classic klezmer tunes, western swing music, and a journey back across the Atlantic to the Great American Songbook, which serves as the bulk of the traditional gypsy jazz repertoire. There, they've found a home in the interpretations of the great American masters such as Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Nat King Cole. From this vantage point, they are creating a new music, familiar and fresh at the same time; the kind of music that encourages you to sit back on a Sunday morning, turn on the radio and, as the tubes warm up and start to deliver that soft, amber glow, be transported back to a simpler time by the velvety vintage sounds coming your way.www.djangoscadillac.com
