Hello I’m Rebecca Field with today's UPI entertainment update on this Thursday, February 7, 2008. Britney Spears is now out of the hospital. The Los Angeles Times says she was escorted out of the Psychiatric ward with a security detail. Sources say a court representative found no just cause for keeping the pop star there for the 14 day hold...despite her doctor's opinion that she should stay. The singer's parents have publicly spoken out against her release...saying they believe her life is at risk. Autopsy results show Heath Ledger's death was accidental. A New York medical examiner says the actor died of a mixture of prescription drugs. Ledger apparently mixed sleeping aids, anxiety pills, and painkillers. People magazine says the federal government is now stepping in to determine if any of the medications were prescribed illegally. The actor was found dead in his Manhattan apartment last month. Madonna and Gucci teamed up last night to throw a big bash for a good cause. The singer and clothing designer hosted a gala in New York benefiting Unicef as well as Madonna's own organization, Raising Malawi. She brought along her daughter Lourdes and invited several other A-list celebrities. Hollywood power couples like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were there, as well as Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale. Even a very pregnant Jennifer Lopez made it to the event along with her husband Marc Anthony. The Grammy foundation celebrated past and present music superstars last night. The Recording Academy held the Sounds of Change Gala in Los Angeles last night, as part of some of the pre-Grammy festivities. Jerry Lee Lewis performed as well as John Fogerty. Up and Comers like Chisette Michele and Grammy nominee Natasha Bedingfield took the stage also. It's all leading up to Sunday's award ceremony. Will Ferrell's upcoming comedy tour has already sold out. New Line Cinema says there are no tickets left for the 8 dates on his Funny or Die tour....that's more than 60,000 ...
