iReport — About 35-40 people met on Saturday, Oct. 24 - the International Day of Climate Action - to WAKE UP!  That is, they attended a symposium whose main message was that everyone living in the Northern hemisphere is in a trance of consumption.  The only hope for the earth and sustainability is for the North to awake from its dream. When I arrived, the symposium participants had just taken a break from meditating and seemed very grateful that they were finally allowed to visit the restrooms.  They were laughing and enthusiastic, but soon calmed down as they set about their task of raising their own consciousness. One of the facilitators told me all about the Patramamma movement that sponsored the symposium.
