2008年4月5日晚的新闻联播，以罕见的力度严批东航云南分公司，两条新闻片断连抖猛料，矛头直指东航，最后还意外地配发编后语，抨击东航不顾旅客权益。这是新闻联播第一次以民生新闻、社会新闻的手法播出新闻片段。但切入视点过于简单，对于“罢飞”或其他因素只字未提。而对于出现飞行员不满情绪及管理混局的背后原因更是无从说明。于是只能造成民众对于东航的仇视情绪，却不知真正是谁该负责，而该负责的一方或许还能因此获益。希望这一天的新闻不是“醉翁之意不在酒”。
