Female boxers have been unable to participate in competitive boxing in NSW since 1986. With introduction of the Combat Sports Act (2008) the NSW Government lifted the ban on 1st October 2009 Tournament This is the first female bout in 23 years on the card of the Hornsby Kuring-gai Cup Tournament held at the Hornsby RSL, Hornsby NSW Australia on 9 October 2009 Kaye Scott (Hornsby Kuring-gai PCYC) Versus Romona Stephenson (Woollongong PCYC)
