The eastern woolly lemur (Avahi laniger) is one of ten lemur species found at Tsinjoarivo forest, in remote eastern Madagascar. Our research team found these woolly lemurs while tracking another lemur, the diademed sifaka (Propithecus diadema), in pristine rainforest. The woolly lemur is small (less than 1 kg), feeds mainly on leaves, and lives in monogamous family groups. This lemur is nocturnal, so these lemurs were sleeping when we found them.
