It seems to be a senior citizens' day as the 80-year-old Homer, who runs a shoe-shine stand and takes care of half the force’s footwear, is missing from his usual place of business and an elderly lady accuses her next-door neighbor of stealing her dog, Bubbles. A serious report concerns an attack on Judy Lench by two thugs wearing ski masks who beat and rob her in the driveway of her home as she returned from shopping at a gourmet market ... the fifth incident following the same MO this week. Meanwhile, one mystery is cleared up-Homer has been picked up on outstanding warrants for jaywalking and can't afford to pay the fines. In the roll call room, a coffee can is designated "The Homer Fund" since the old man is liked by all the officers and since their shoes are in "lockup" until Homer gets out.
