It started around 8 am of that day. It was raining hard and i was thinking about going out to get breakfast. I woke my sister up and she told me to wait for her. She wanted to go with me to the village grocery to buy some stuff she needed as well. When we went to the ford fiera, the street was ankle-deep in water. We were just around the corner near the zen center when I noticed co-zen practitioner Juju Tan’s car parked outside the center. He was in the Zendo. I took note of it and turned left at the corner, and that’s when we saw St. Catherine Street. It was waist-deep in water and cars were turning back to find some alternate route out. We were told by a neighbour we saw on the street that St. Mary’s Avenue, the main road leading out to the village was also impassable to most vehicles. That made it almost impossible for that part of our village to go out to the village gate by car. We decided to head home. It was around 9:30 am when our neighbour from across the street sent word that cars are to be moved to higher ground. I moved the fiera to the Zendo’s St. Catherine gate.
