In early April 2007, SHP Director Gaston Callum photographs some of South Carolina’s renown pre-Civil War plantation houses right before the Spring foliage kicked in. Callum's brief encounter with a deputy sheriff occurred as the officer spotted his SUV parked on the vacant rural property and he thought the vehicle might be stolen or that looters were inside plying their lowly craft. www.southlandhp.org
