iReport — The City of Chicago’s best kept secret can't stay concealed any longer and is being brought out of hiding by Lyric author/publisher Esta "Cookie" Johnson Hunt. She feels that in light of Chicago's unsuccessful Olympics 2016 bid, the City needs immediate emotional healing and can't wait any longer. More importantly, in dealing with its ongoing challenges of juvenile violence, this City Anthem can serve as an antidote which can generate youthful pride in one's City. This Promo video was produced by Cookie and is being released to renew public interest and attention to her Anthem, "Hail To Thee, Chicago" which received an Adopted consideration Resolution from Mayor Daley and the City Council to become the City's official anthem back in 1996. Preceding the Resolution, testimonial letters from dozens of supportive aldermen, community groups and leaders (including the late Cardinal Bernadin), and grassroots organizations, etc., were sent to City Hall echoing their support for this Anthem to become official. Unfortunately, this Anthem has remained tucked away in Committee ever since. The City Council is way overdue to finish its procedures. May this video reminder spur them to action. The MP3 for the vocal and instrumental tracks of this Anthem can be purchased at CDBaby.com network. The choral version on sheet music can soon be purchased from MusicForte.com online. Calling all school choirs and bands, community choirs, symphony orchestras, movie producers, tourism bureaus, and performing artists: Hail to Thee, Chicago!
