Als die Bingleys im Herbst zurück nachNetherfield kommen, entschuldigt sich Darcy bei Bingley für sein unangebrachtes Verhalten und setzt sich dafür ein, dass er Jane doch noch heiratet. Als Elizabeth ihm für seinen Einsatz danken will, verloben die beiden sich, sehr zur Überraschung der Familie.
