In a firm meeting, Hannah (Viola Davis) explains that Dr. Bressack (Richard Thomas) gave Claire (Rebecca McFarland) and Douglas Jansen (Robert Merrill) the genetic characteristics of 10,000 embryos and they selected one…unaware it was a gay child. The couple is suing Dr. Bressack for 2 million dollars for withholding information. Meanwhile, an investment banker, Dennis Sanchez, comes to see Lukas (Ioan Gruffudd). The distraught man explains that he just spent the night in jail for burglary. He proclaims his innocence, even though he admits to breaking in and stealing things…including the front door. Dennis explains that the apartment belongs to his ex-girlfriend. She had him move in, programmed everything around him – his voice to read her daughter stories at night, their bed to warm to his body temperature, the front door to tell her he loves her when she leaves in the morning; and then kicked him out. He went back to steal his downloads.
