The gray bamboo lemur (Hapalemur griseus) is one of ten lemur species found at Tsinjoarivo forest, in remote eastern Madagascar. Our research team found this bamboo lemur while tracking another lemur, the diademed sifaka (Propithecus diadema) in pristine rainforest. The bamboo lemur is small (less than 1 kg), feeds mainly on bamboo but also consumes fruit and flowers, and lives in small family groups. This animal was not habituated to human observers, as you can tell by its "tail-flagging" ...
