Amy Adams began her career as a dancer in dinner theaters before landing her first film role 1999 in the black comedy film Drop Dead Gorgeous along with Kirstie Alley. She then guest-starred on several TV sereis including Charmed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Smallville and The West Wing.
In 2002 she appeared as Brenda Strong along with Leonardo DiCaprio in Steven Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can. But her break-rhtough didn't come until 2005 when she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for the film Junebug, directed by Phil Morrison.
In 2007, Amy received a Golden Globe Award nomination for her performance as Giselle in the film Enchanted.
Recent movies included Sunshine Cleaning, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, Doubt, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, and Julie & Julia.
