Slate V Becomes a Strong Force in Web Video

Slate V, the online video magazine from the editors of Slate, has become a unique destination for online video, fortifying its position as a major player in video Web sites. Presenting at least one new original video each weekday and selecting editorial favorites from across the Web, Slate V has delivered over two million video downloads since its launch late June 2007.

Slate V was recently called a "pioneering new video site" by The Chicago Tribune. Slate’s editor Jacob Weisberg says, "Unlike other video sites, Slate V is a real magazine, with features ranging from politics and science to culture and advice. It’s topical video journalism, all infused with the smart, witty sensibility that Slate is known for."

ON Networks Salutes Comic Books, Films & Geek Culture with New Internet TV Show Bif! Bam! Pow! Wow!

Hipper than a speeding bullet, more irreverent than a locomotive and able to leap tall buildings with a single quip, Internet TV show Bif! Bam! Pow! Wow! makes its virtual debut via ON Networks. The new program celebrates and critically reviews all that geek culture holds dear: comic books, graphic novels, movies, action figures, video games and even the occasional fantasy babe.

Bif! Bam! is hosted by Tom Seymour, a quirky Chicago comic book store manager who offers a behind-the-counter report filled with news and reviews for anyone interested in comics, superheroes, sci-fi or pop culture. Seymour takes on the role of tastemaker as he doles out his unsolicited opinions on comics and collectibles in spirited monologues, rants, and informed "Picks and Pans" segments. He is aided by fun graphics and sound effects alongside a motley crew of sidekicks, man-on-the-street interviews and occasional guest appearances.

YouSwitch: Watch Live Music Events as Never Before!

Developed by In Extenso Media, a Montreal based web and postproduction company, Microsoft is a cutting-edge and cool interactive entertainment product that enhances the connection between fans and artists during live music events.

The connection between an artist and fans requires that they interact directly and there is nothing better to do so than during a live performance. YouSwitch allows the user to take control and to become responsible for the directing and editing of their favourite artist's pre-recorded or live concert. In addition to the traditional webcast format, YouSwitch gives users ability to look at four video streams simultaneously (4 different camera angles) and allows them to create, by the use of an intuitive console, a mixture of individual streams they would like to view. Thus, they can build their own sequence and have the final cut of their favourite artist's concerts and music videos.
