The 2009–2010 National Hockey League (NHL) takes place October 1, 2009-April 12, 2010. After that, the Stanley Cup playoffs will take place all the way up to early June 2010. Due to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, there will be a short break from February 15-28 to allow  NHL players to participate in the event and there will be no NHL All Star Game.
