Cover of his live performance(s). Namely, the San Quentin one. {it's on youtube}I like the faster tempo in that one, as opposed to the album version.**I'm no singer* This song is really fun to play. I'd like to the thank BENJAMMIN8807 for his great rendition. I learned this from him. To the Johnny Cash purists: Judge my playing, not my singing. I know I don't sound country western bro. ha!Hope you like it. **************************************** ***How to play it: This song is ALL about your right hand. The strumming and picking defines this song. The chords are easy. E A E B7. That's it! The important thing is to pluck the bass notes as you strum. The solo is a bit harder, but it will come to you once you get the "blue grass" picking down. If you have basic chord knowledge and decent rhythm, you CAN learn this. You just have watch it over and over. And play along. Serious. There's no tab from heaven that will lay it all out for you. Know what I mean? Anyway, hope that helps you learn it. [By the way: I'm playing with a capo on the 2nd fret. But you can play w/out it. The chords stay the same. E-A-E-B7]Now, play and have fun! serg*Lyrics:I hear the train a comin'It's rolling round the bendAnd I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when,I'm stuck in Folsom prison, and time keeps draggin' onBut that train keeps a rollin' on down to San Antone. When I was just a baby my mama told me. Son,Always be a good boy, don't ever play with guns. But I shot a man in Reno just to watch him dieWhen I hear that whistle blowing, I hang my head and cry..I bet there's rich folks eating in a fancy dining car. They're probably drinkin' coffee and smoking big cigars.Well I know I had it coming, I know I can't be freeBut those people keep a movin'And that's what tortures me...Well if they freed me from this prison,If that railroad train was mineI bet I'd move it on a little farther down the line. Far from Folsom prison, that's where I want to stay. And I'd let that lonesome whistle blow my blues away.....
