10/13/2007 Chicago Ron Paul Walk, Part 1
Duration: 9:58Source: YouTube
http://www.topofcenter.com This video starts with video from a conversation I had with a gentleman from the Chicago/Rockford area as the crowd of Ron Paul supporters coalesced at Millenium Park. It then goes into the organizer's opening speech and the first steps of the march. Part 2 watches the march as it goes around the vicinity of Chicago's Magnificent Mile, and some of the organizer's concluding speech. The event was organized by Brian Costin of the Greater Chicago Ron Paul 2008 Meetup. The Chicago area Meetups are very professional; if you're in northern Illinois, join any one of them; you'll be in for a treat. The parade began and ended at Millenium Park, traveling around several city blocks, chanting the name of Ron Paul, waving signs and blaring on megaphones. They even stopped in front of an ABC studio to chant "We're not just the Internet!" An informal little choir repeatedly sang their own "Hope for America" ditty, and I don't think there was a single person on the street who saw the crowd pass without receiving some kind of handout about Ron Paul. Aside from the main crowd of walkers, there were others scattered around on the other side of the street passing out the campaign literature. And that was one of the most magnificent things that happened that day. This wasn't just a gaggle of enthusiasts traipsing down the street shouting. Yes, the main body of the parade spent its time being loud and proud, but others were finding people on the street and engaging them in sincere discussions about liberty. That's how we'll win. People like freedom. It isn't a soundbite, it isn't a faraway abstraction. Freedom is real; America was built to have it, and we can have it again. You shouldn't have to work January to April just to pay the government. You shouldn't have to live in fear in your own country. You can be alive and free. And now there's a guy running for President who can help make that happen.
