When the Tea Act was passed by the British government the colonists’ were outraged with this new tax. People did not want to follow King George’s orders. On December 16, 1773, Samuel Adams and the sons of Liberty dress up as Indians and boarded three ships. The crew of ”Indians” dumped 342 crates of tea into the Boston Harbor. They did not want to be taxed on tea and did not want the East Indian tea to be sold in the 13 colonies. They did not want King George to control their freedom. People tried to boycott or bug smuggled tea from merchants. Many colonists’ in the 13 colonies protested to get rid of the tax on tea. In 1774, 5 acts were announced as a punishment for the Boston tea Party. The 5 acts were Boston port act, Massachusetts government act, Administration of Justice act, Quartering act and Quebec act. Colonists’ were furious and frustrated with all these 5 acts. The Boston Tea Party led to the Revolution by uniting colonist together to fight for freedom.
