Here´s a relatively unknown AOR singer who has sung on 2 well known ballad hits (Sheriff´s "When I´m with you" and Alias´ "More than words can say"). He stretches his voice very far and thus reaching all the way up to the soprano C. I used to think it was falsetto but after having listened to all his records I know consider it thin head voice. Both Mike Matijevic and Mark Slaughter seem to have drwan some inspiration from Curci´s high note technique. 1. A very long D5 from Sheriff´s "living in a dream". 2. a D5 to E5 from Alias "waiting for love", one hears that is nowhere near the upper limit for Curci. 3. a E5 from Alias "say what I wanna say". 4. A F#5 from "perfect world". 5. a good full sounding F#5-G#5-F#5-E5 from Alias "true emotion". 6. a G5 from Sheriff´s "kept me coming". 7. a long G5...A5...Bb5 from Sheriff´s "makin´my way back". 8. a long G5 ending on a Bb5 from a live 83 version of "kept me coming". Pic shows the Alias band members. 9. same part but studio, ending on A5 instead. 10. a chestier sounding A5 from Sheriff´s "you remind me". 11. same A5 but live 83. 12. a spectacular F#5-E5-A5-Bb5 from Alias "what to do". 13. ending of Sheriff song "california", B5 at the end, a little too high singing to make it convincing. 14. better live (83) version of same part. 15. nice portamento up to B5 from ending of Sheriff song "give me rock´n roll", live 83. 16. same song but studio, first a phrase sung around G5/A5 with a short trill to C6 then a portamento up to A5, this clip has been featured on my male soprano C video. 17. a somewhat annoying clip where curci sings at the very top of his range, G5 to A5 with trill to C6, from Sheriff song "living in a dream". The pic is from his new project Zion. 18. same part but live 83, a little less annoying. It´s clear that Curci stretches his voice a bit too far but it does make for spectacular singing, if you´re into that (which I know you subscribers are!). Enjoy!
