She's maintained her spot at the top of the class while volunteering in the community and staying involved in many school activities. In tonight's Student Spotlight, we meet Emily Boettcher at Westhope High School. (Emily Boettcher, Westhope Senior) I've gone to Westhope my entire life. It's a small school and you get to know all of the other students and get a close relationship with them. I wouldn't say I have a favorite teacher but it's nice because the teacher to student ratio is small and you get a lot of personal attention from all of the teachers and you get to know all of them well. I really like history and English, they're my favorite subjects. I played basketball for a few years, I was a cheerleader for football all four years, I was in speech, and I'm in band and choir and am the editor of the newspaper. I plan on going to college at Northwestern in St. Paul in the fall. I'm going to major in English literature and go on to be a teacher. Congratulations to the honor graduates at Westhope High School. All nine seniors will graduate on May 20th.
