Bridge Victims Given Aid
 Source: ClipSyndicate
The Minnesota Senate Finance Committee is discussing a bill to compensate victims of last year's deadly Bridge Collapse in Minneapolis. The House has already passed a compensation bill that would provide 40-million dollars. The Senate version of the bill would put a compensation limit of 400-thousand dollars per victim. The bill would help victims and their families pay for medical expenses, lost wages, funeral costs and pain and suffering. Jennifer Holmes lost her husband, Pat, in the bridge collapse. She says in addition to losing her husband, she lost his income and coverage from his health insurance. She's now paying 800 dollars a month in medical costs. Jennifer: So, I'm taking a huge hit financially as well as everything else. So, I'm just trying to figure everything out right now. I know I'm not the only one, my story. Everybody has their own unique story. The full Senate will now debate the bill. If it passes, a conference committee would have to iron out differences between the House and Senate versions.
