Although many residents of North Dakota aren't fans of the strong wind we experience in the state, it can actually be very beneficial. Wind energy is becoming big business in the state. Officials with the Minot State Geology department believe it's important enough to inform students about during Earth Science week this week. Kim Christianson of the North Dakota Department of Commerce believes it's very important to the students since it will be creating many jobs for them in the near future... There are a lot of jobs being created in the state that are related to energy development and renewable energy specifically. I would like these students to realize that there are opportunities here in the state for future jobs in the energy industry. North Dakota has been identified as having the greatest wind resource of any of the lower 48 states by the Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado.
