Phil Mickelson won THE PLAYERS Championship for the first time Sunday, ending a taut battle with third-round leader Sean O'Hair when O'Hair went in the water on the island-green 17th hole. Sergio Garcia finished second, while Stewart Cink and Jose Maria Olazabal tied for third.
