General Merchandise Truckloads and Pallets Every item is handled and scanned at the Processing Center and a manifest is generated. Most obviously “un-sellable” items are discarded during the processing. As the individual items are being processed, a label is applied that has a brief description of the item, and a retail value. Is that easy or what? These loads are better than the bulk loads because you will know the retail value of your load and your price is based on that. The other loads are fixed price with no manifest and the retail value can vary considerably from load to load. Some items are not in the original packaging, and therefore cannot be scanned. In this event, the item is given a “Generic” Description and a retail value is assigned to the item, usually much lower than the actual retail value of the item. We call these Cherries!
