Who am I? I am a 41-year old woman residing in Chattanooga, Tennessee who has never been involved in a political campaign until now. I have certainly never written a letter to a superdelegate on behalf of a potential nominee. However, I felt so inspired by Sen. Obama that I broke out of my informed, but semi-passive political participation to not only campaign on his behalf, but to write to you today.Like so many other Tennesseans and Americans, I can see that Senator Obama is the candidate whose voice reaches us, and I find tremendous power in that. I, and unprecedented throngs of others, have answered the call of Senator Obama to get involved. This letter is a small testament to that fact. I will not go into the issues or the candidate's stances, as I'm sure that you are well informed. Frankly, Senators Clinton and Obama are so similar in regard to their stances on the issues that I believe the Democratic Party must look for something other than policy to decide who gets on the ticket. I believe that Sen. Obama's ability to ignite action from ordinary citizens is very compelling, and is a quality that no other candidate in this election possesses. Sen. Obama's grassroots styled organization has moved people from coast to coast and border to border to rally around this inspirational movement. Sen. Obama is a leader who can inspire and has inspired individuals to take action. His ability to move thousands of largely uninterested and traditionally apathetic youth to rally around politics is a testament to his inspiration and power to move this country towards a better future—a future that the youth are now actively paying attention to. I believe that as millions begin to work together (and speak up for what we believe in, as I am doing now) that we will see positive change in the direction of America's greatest potential. I hope that this letter may serve as a small affirmation of what you must have wondered by now, which is, "Can Obama truly engage the American people to work for change?" Yes he can.
