Maine Eastern Railroad Train No. 002 cruises into the Bath, ME train station a good 12 minutes late today. Track and Bridge work on the Kennebec River Bridge (Rail), which is adjacent ot the Route 1 bridge and about 1/4 miles from the Bath Iron Works caused a slight track delay. Note the maintenance rail-trucks pulling onto the siding to make room for the train. Today and for the past few weeks, the railroad has been using its Ex-Amtrak EMD GP9, usually used on its local freight operations, for its daily excursion trains to augment its FL9, No. 489, on the line's slippery gradients. The 488 was broken and in the Rockland shops at the time of this video, and was scheduled to be taken down to Morristown, where the line's operator, Morristown and Erie, is headquartered.
