Shoe scan security boost

An Israeli firm develops a step-on scanner that saves airline passengers having to remove their shoes for security checks. The scanner is used in conjunction with existing airport security checks to spot weapons or suspicious metal components concealed in footwear and an explosives-sniffing version is now being developed.
