Truth will be told about Jenny Botero
Duration: 4:06Source: YouTube
Transcript: Hello! Now we have learned the news about Jenny Botero getting a job at the White House as an executive housekeeper, since she is seen at being an expert in her field. But the question is: Is she really that competent? Does she actually know how to communicate with people who don't know or [not speak] English? What we noticed was that she did not demonstrate her ability or expertise to communicate with people who don't speak English-neighter with foreigners nor with Deaf people. As for us Deaf people, we have experienced the worse. I think it is important in some ways that the White House be made aware about this incident involving my daughter and me. Nevertheless, I am positive and confident that Jenny will eventually experience the consequences of her misdeed. Why? A reporter contacted me to request a quote, explaining what happened , how Botero behaved and how she reacted to our presence there. I have no idea right now if my statement will be published in DC Examiner. But I wanted you to know that the reporter have already contacted me about it. My quote: "Jenny Botero is not competent to be employed at the White House because of her infamous action of suppressing our freedom of speech. While she was employed as a general manager at Mariott, she actually harmed my 8-year-old daughter who was passing out flyers on a public sidewalk. Jenny Botero snatched the flyers from her hands and ripped them up, scratching my daughter's hand in the process." (Thanks to Brian Riley for hooking me up with the reporter.) Jenny doesn't know how to approach Deaf people and she violated both of my daughter's free speech rights and my own free speech rights as well. Can you imagine her working at the White House? I am dismayed. What have I been doing about that feeling? Well, I have been busy focusing on a bigger issue of why it is important for Deaf babies to sign. I have poured my energy, my time and my thoughts into this but I've kept the case in the back of my mind. So I thought, "Ok, the important thing to do is simplete to let Boter's karma catch up with her. When a person like Botero gets hired to work for the federal government, the media and the government will wan tto do a background check on that person. thankfully, I got contacted by a reporter on this matter. I am still considering filing a court complaint, and I hope to move forward with this soon. Right now what I think it is important is to at least inform the White House of this. If you were there and knew what happen or want to share your concerns, feel free to do so. Thanks to Mishka Zena's blog, the information is published and the public is informed on these details. But what do I really expect from this? What is important to me right now is that the message gets to the White House. When I broke the recent news to my daughter, she decided that she wanted to share her thoughts, feelings and her reflections about the subject. Boy, she was really surprised today when she found out the news Brianna: Know what? Jenny, you know who? She got a job in the White House! Why did she get a job if she doesn't know how to communicate with Deaf people? It is not right. When I was passing out the flyers, I was happy until Jenny grabbed the flyer from me and scratched my hand. She took away the paper from my mother, too. After all what happened, she got a job there? It is not right! She violated my freedom of speech. I need your help. Do you mind? Send your letter about your thoughts on Jenny's behavior to warn them that she is not a right person for it. Thank you! Contacting the White House Comments: 202-456-1111 Switchboard: 202-456-1414 FAX: 202-456-2461 TTY/TDD 202-456-6213 E-Mail comments@whitehouse.gov.
