It was released as a single on May 5, 1997 and is the first to be released from the band's fifth album Vanishing Point. The single went to number 8 on the UK charts. Author Irvine Welsh scripted the video for the album's first single, "Kowalski" and was directed by musician Douglas Hart. The video features a Dodge Challenger and super model Kate Moss beating up the band. The band's lead singer, Bobby Gillespie described the video as "a cross between Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill! and The Sweeney."
